Default Coffee Canadian security

Does anyone know if crew members are allowed to bring a cup of coffee thru security in Canada?

I'm looking to get my Tim Hortons fix in YUL and the only one appears to be before security.

Nope they make you trash it in YUL. Other canadian airports sometimes have you put it in a special cup holder tray and send it through the machine.

As silly as it may sound, generally Canadian security will let you bring your Timmy double double through if you have it covered by a paper bag.
I can't make this stuff up. It's all about perception. Apparently the crash axe in the flight deck is ok, but you can't have passengers seeing you bring your coffee through security.
Anyways that should do the trick.

They told me if I could somehow conceal it going through the xray belt I could have it... this is AFTER I cleared Customs in Toronto and was technically already on soverigh american ground!

What's even more maddening in regards to what you said is when, back here in the US, you Must send the CLEAR bottle of water through the xray to irradiate it, yet the OPAQUE cup of coffee is good to carry through in your hands.

This is because Canada is a socialist country, and everything has to be "fair".

Great to see that Canadian and U.S. security policies are on equal footing.

Guess both are trying to outdo each other in the stupidity department.

Can’t accuse each country’s security agencies of not collaborating on the issues.

Yup last week in YOW a Jazz captain was complaining with a security supervisor about the obsurdity of the rules. It seems the rules are different for the domestic flights and the ones that preclear going to the USA.
