Pen Air QOL

Any current info on life as an FO in Anchorage? The good the bad the ugly?

I'm interested as well, also curious to know what training is like? Anything to study prior to class?

In for info as well, but for the BOS base.

ANC typically isn't bad. Lines are mixed with flying and reserve. 4 days on, 3 off typically. As we've been short it's been 5/2 instead. You're home every night. Fairly routine stuff. BOS is a little more tricky because you overnight at the outstations. They're working our some kinks in the scheduling since there
Has been a new destination thrown in the mix, as well as pilots moving on to other carriers.

Any pilots commute that work at Pen Air based in Alaska?

Has anyone got a call for an interview?

I've always know PenAir as a great place to work. If you want to stay in ANC then do it. Great QOL, good equipment, and not too many DB pilots. A very safe and rewarding flying gig. I hear BOS is good too but not a fit for everyone. You could always look across the street at ACE and drive 1900's. They definitely are the bottom feeders on the field but a new pay scale ($30/$35/hr FOs / $60-$80/hr Capt) makes it a better place and is attracting a lot more resumes. Definitely worth acquiring about. I hear they are actually giving guys days off and upgrade time is fast (12-18 months depending on your TT). They're CASS and you don't need an ATP to sit in the right seat. I flew there and got well over 1200hrs per year. You'll do a lot of unloading but the destinations are always exciting.

What's an average new hire at ACE look like in terms of TT, multi etc?
