Pen Air QOL

ANC typically isn't bad. Lines are mixed with flying and reserve. 4 days on, 3 off typically. As we've been short it's been 5/2 instead. You're home every night. Fairly routine stuff. BOS is a little more tricky because you overnight at the outstations. They're working our some kinks in the scheduling since there
Has been a new destination thrown in the mix, as well as pilots moving on to other carriers.

I've always know PenAir as a great place to work. If you want to stay in ANC then do it. Great QOL, good equipment, and not too many DB pilots. A very safe and rewarding flying gig. I hear BOS is good too but not a fit for everyone. You could always look across the street at ACE and drive 1900's. They definitely are the bottom feeders on the field but a new pay scale ($30/$35/hr FOs / $60-$80/hr Capt) makes it a better place and is attracting a lot more resumes. Definitely worth acquiring about. I hear they are actually giving guys days off and upgrade time is fast (12-18 months depending on your TT). They're CASS and you don't need an ATP to sit in the right seat. I flew there and got well over 1200hrs per year. You'll do a lot of unloading but the destinations are always exciting.
