Any idea where they will be based?
They will be based in Anchorage. Alaska Airlines wanted a larger and faster airplane for Dutch Harbor. These are for that route.

Mostly all trips will overnight either in PQI or PBG. They only fly to those two places , and seasonal service to BHB From late May to early Sept.

The real issue is the Saab couldn't take all the pax bags and fuel needed so they'd launch two. Well what happens when one goes down for mx... At least that was what was explained to me by a guy very familiar with the operation. The Q asfaik can't legally go in and out of there way, either way that's awesome I love the Saab 2000.

PenAir is a great company. Too bad they closed their 135 down, though understand there was liability. Jump seating out of state was easy, hard part was finding a seat back! Good to know they are upgrading to bigger planes. Too many times they had to fly bags to dutch in the van.

Excellent pilots to fly with and most have a lot of great experience flying in very challenging conditions. Definitely not normal regional type flying(AK). I think if someone has experience flying in Alaska they would be higher for selection to get a position.

We are configuring them for 45 seats so I imagine we can carry the bags and fuel we will need to. But it will be a giant learning curve, so we will see.

Just curious, does PenAir have any agreements with Alaska Air for interviews or flow program?

As far as I know PenAir doesn't have any kind of preferential agreements with AS. Or any kind of flow.
