I don't have any current info on PenAir per se, but I can tell you that I did all of that flying when it was a Colgan base...
I was based in BOS for the final 2 months that it was COlgans, and it was the BEST 2 months of my entire career. Awesome flying, awesome airport, great people, great city, creepy Stephen King overnights all throughout Maine.
I am curious if PenAir still doesn't pay you in training.

3 hrs/day for ground school if I remember correctly. They will put you up in "modest" accommodations during training if you are moving to Anchorage for the job. Ground school is tough, be ready for the fire hose and to work your a** off. Great place to work and for the most part, good people to work with. You will learn a lot too.

Rent is expensive, expect to pay at least $500-750 for a room in an old apartment or house. Average price for a single family home is over 300K, Internet is expensive and isn't unlimited (about $135/month for 250 gigs). food is expensive...Everything is expensive. But...It's a great place to live. Great bars, and a burgeoning food scene. If you like to be outdoors and have a little bit of gear, you can do something every day for basically free. And with your jumpseat benefits, you can leave whenever you want, unlike the rest of the population...

What does it take to get a call to interview at this place? I've applied twice and not a chirp back.
4500TT 1200PIC 3000turbine ATP, no failed checkrides, no DUI's, no skeletons.. Figured I'd be more than competitive....?
