I had WH on a flight from DCA to IND. He did not ride up front, but poked his head in during boarding.

Upon return to DCA we were met by mx. They had been pulled from working on a broken and delayed airplane because WH had called mx control personally to have them clean grease streaks he saw on the wing.

Mx cussed a lot as they entered the dirty wings into the NEF log, then got back to what they were doing with the plane that was delayed.

Commoners like me call that "getting bumped by a revenue passenger."

They way I understand it, he took a cabin jumpseat. Still, a nice thing to do considering that many would have not.

Also, regarding other execs; I think that if Bedford rode up front with some of our crews they'd never find his body.

That's a little levity, of course, but I think he knows that he'd not exactly be welcomed by many of RJET's cockpit crews.

I think its safe to say that the odds of a big-wig riding up front are inversely proportional to the length of the flight in hours.

Paul Foley (what did he do?) would ride in the J/S during his weekly commute between his home in HPN and MSP.

One night while riding on the AVRO, the weather tanked in HPN and they ended up diverting to either LGA or JFK and Paul was not silent about his displeasure of being so inconvenienced. He was finally reminded about sterile cockpit rules and told in no uncertain terms to shut his pie hole as he was starting to have a bit of a tantrum about it.

After the flight, the Captain pulled him aside and continued the lecture about sterile cockpit as well as PIC authority.
