Default Eagle "824" question

Eagle Compadres,

Heard a little tidbit today that the 824 are gonna have to pass some kind of "pre hire test" before being placed in an AA new hire class. True or not?

I've heard the same rumor but that goes directly against the award language. If it happens the union will grieve it and 10 years from now the guys who fail the test will get a chance to flow to AA.

Call me naive, and I don't have the language in front of me. How, though, does this test go against the award language? AFAIK the language just stated the pilots won't have to participate in any portion of an interview or medical. AA management could just say this test is not part of the interview process. It is a "screening" test. The award language doesn't mention that does it?

My guess is it was just a mistake or truly a non jeapordy event as I think one person said the question aren't even aviation related.

Default Eagle "824" question

Well they are being told they have to go to Dallas on their own dime and their own time and once they "successfully complete" this non-jeopardy pilot skills test they are in. I guess the issue is the wording. Why would you have to "successfully" have to complete a non-jeopardy event instead of just completing it.

Not Rumor. Is right on the letter they are getting.
But you are correct, grieve it and it will be years for the first of the 824's to go.

Thx guys. So basically a "non event" right?

Welcome to the dark side!

ps... I am volunteering as Miami (soon to be DCA) Base Sponsor for recalls/new hires. What we do is answer any questions and basically offer a helping hand to the folks between IOE and first trip on the line, however we are always available at any time during training. If any of you end up being based in MIA or DCA, send me a PM and I will add you to my sponsor list.
