Who cares? Honestly. I'm at mainline. Buddy passes are worthless. It's more trouble than it's worth. They're not even cheap any more.

Not to be a Debbie downer here but...

Are you thinking about including buddy passes into your thought process when choosing a regional? Buddy passes have next to zero value and can be difficult at best to use.

Let me give you my parents phone number. You can call them and ask them about travel benefits. Be sure to hold the phone at least 6 inches away from your ear.

Have you been hired by every regional out there, and this is what it has come down to?

Tell your "buddy" to pay the extra $150 and get a confirmed seat, like the rest of the paying passengers. Buddy passes and not worth sitting in a airport for 15 hours and then not making any of the flights to wherever airport.

I feel like I have to weigh in here on something. While I agree that guest passes are a poor barometer for employment decision making, they most definitely have value...
Perhaps less domestically, but on long international flights when the cheapest fair is 1000 and up- paying 200 when you have a flexible schedule is something that many of my friends are grateful for.
