We all hate politics but I'm thankful we live in a democracy where idealistic individuals can not institute unilateral decisions without true policy making procedures.

Criticize the policy but don't shoot the messenger.

It was not politics. It was not a unilateral decision. It was staffed.

I knew him as a USAF Pilot before he went to medical school and had dinner with him in October. He is very pro-pilot.

A 2013 CDC study revealed that people classified as "overweight" (not "obese") on the BMI have a lower mortality rate than those with a normal BMI. Hypothesis is the lean muscle mass (that adds weight) is beneficial. According to the NOV issue of Men's Health muscular strength is associated with reduced risks of almost every cardiovascular disorder.

How about the "sham" medicals to begin with? I have not had a blood pressure cuff or stethoscope on me in the last three years of first class medicals but the doc is happy to take my $100 along with cash from the long line of airline pilots out the door. Average time from sign in to sign out - 30 minutes. 15 of which is spent in the waiting room reading a magazine.

Wow.
That is a "sham".
My medical at CAMI is fairly thorough and even includes a hearing test in the booth.
