Are first year guys allowed to vote? ALPA members must wait a year before voting and before paying dues.
Not defending his position, just asking how it works with the IBT

And MCI, PIT and CMH in the future.

You sure you work here?

You sure you understood the question? He said where do they fly, not where are they going to fly... it's also common knowledge that the reliability and operational performance of the Q is in the tank.

Is this at all IBT carriers or just republic?

Understood it perfectly. They fly everywhere. I'd imagine one would want to know were the bases are. You listed 2 bases. There are currently 4 with one in the works. If someone asked you where our US Air 170's fly, you gonna tell them Phl and Dca?

The person released "after one day" was not voluntary. Let just leave it at that.

lj1313 03-01-2014 04:12 PM

Ummmmm Captbiff..... The "told they would go to the Q"thing never happened. And to my knowledge, neither has RAH canceled 3 Shuttle classes.

A little banter is fine, but let's please back it up with at least a little fact.

sargeanb 03-01-2014 05:48 PM

Damn right they're desperate. They have called me for overtime nearly every day off this month. And I'm not answering.

I never been for an interview with them, but they sent me this letter. I wonder how many other are getting it?

LOL got the exact same letter years ago. But replace "First Officer" with "licensed mechanic"

captbiff 03-02-2014 04:13 PM

Banter? Hardly. My info comes from a very reliable cka. A guy that talks to the other sim cka and he sees the new hires fail, and get retrained, and fail again, get retrained, and finally pass (two last week btw). It is happening though regardless of what you think.

I don't know of a single pilot that works here that is happy with this mgmt team. Not a single cheerleader, drunk off of the company kool-aide. I DO know a lot of very good folks that feel cheated, lied to, miss-managed, etc and want nothing more then to see this place burn to the ground. This TA is a slap to the face.

An epic and utter failure. And it will not pass.

lj1313 03-02-2014 04:29 PM

captbiff-

Wasn't talking about the TA, it was your comments about the people walking off from class and the Shuttle class canceling. I have personal knowledge of those. Didn't happen.

I hope the best for you guys.

I think that the "patriotism" of this pilot group has been watered down with enough new hires that it may pass.

You underestimate the new hires.

I have a question you may or may not know the answer. Are they actual pink slips for a checkride, or just a blip in the training record for that day?

The distinction could be important. If they're actual pink slips, RAH may be getting some lifers.

Oh how I wish that were the case! In this business it's F@$& up and move up. I personally know a gal that had her medical pulled for "episodes of random crying" that came with all sorts of pharmaceuticals as"cures". This person also busted a check or two. So where is she now?? Swinging gear at Delta!

captbiff 03-03-2014 01:24 PM

No justice in the world. I know a guy that just got hired at UAL with a DUI. Didn't realize that getting in a car and driving drunk was looked on as a good trait in a new hire.

Bolded the important part. No matter how big a screw up you are, that's the trump card.

FL410 03-03-2014 01:36 PM

In the last month. I have got emails from SkyWest, ExpressJet and now Rah for interviews. They say they are getting my stuff from Airlineapps. I have only applied to Delta and United on that website. Very odd.

I'm sure they didn't look at it as a "good" thing but rather looked at him as a whole person and what he learned from it.
