This year's January reunion is going to be held at the new Ned Devine's located off route 7 at the corner of RT 7 and Dranesville Road (It occupies the space that was once the Sterling Cinema Drafthouse).
I have spoken with a manager at Ned's and he has been very accommodating in meeting some of my requests for the reunion. They will be setting aside a private area for us to congregate in from 5pm until 9pm. During this time, normal happy hour specials are available. Food will be available to order off the regular menu, and if there is enough interest, they are willing to work out a special menu for various appetizers/finger food for our event.
They are also planning on having a comedian in for Saturday evening comedy, so those folks that want to break away for a few laughs should be able to do so. There is no cover charge for people arriving before 9pm.
It's worth noting that AFTER 9pm, we are more than welcome to stay and enjoy the atmosphere (without cover) as Ned's becomes more club-like. A neat casual dress code is expected after 9pm. I don't think it will be a big issue though and didn't bother to ask about it. From their website:
"Dress Code will be enforced after 9PM! Neat Casual Attire. No athletic wear, including sweats, team jerseys, baggy T-shirts, torn or excessively baggy jeans, sneakers, runners, trainers, and no head gear. Collared shirts are required for gentlemen."
I have called around to both the Hampton in Cascades (the closest hotel), and the Dulles Holiday Inn (behind the Shaw Road training center). Both hotels have rooms available for $69-79 a night if people are traveling in and need places to stay. I have NOT set aside any blocks of rooms since I have no clue how many people are coming in.
