Consequences of RAH passing this abortion.

It would clearly be a huge setback in the movement we've all been waiting for. Beyond that, it takes away their opportunity to properly attract new talent rendering them poorly staffed for years to come. No new hires, no growth. What's their reasoning? Are the margins really this thin that they can't afford to pays us a fair livable wage?
You will not have another opportunity like this for many years to come. Vote no.

Thanks for starting a brand new thread for this. It really contributes a lot to the discussion that couldn't have been in one of the 3 other RAH threads on the front page.

Edit: I agree with you, for the record.

IBPilot 03-04-2014 04:43 AM

Are you going to start an idiotic thread like this EVERY TIME any airline is in negotiations? Or are you trying to get your post count up to win a prize? Honestly someone who starts as many posts like this has some hidden guilt somewhere for voting yes and is trying to cover it up.

Salukipilot4590 03-04-2014 04:53 AM

CONCESSIONS ARE SO IN RIGHT NOW!

Like seriously guise!

Agreed. NoLightOff, you get my vote of TOTD.

What do you reasonably expect from a ta that you would not consider an abortion?

This is a serious question.

I want to know the answer to this too.

Nah...they just work for ALPA and are trying to figure out how to explain to their regionals why they can't get them anything but concessions...Moak is praying this fails, otherwise he has a lot of 'splaning to do.

Flitestar 03-05-2014 05:00 AM

When is the vote? Just curious...

I'll have a go....

- Leg-by-leg cancellation pay.
- 4:1 and 2:1 trip and duty rigs.
- Hourly rate equal to Horizon, if not better.
- Some sort of Schedule Adjustment Process. (SAP)
- Sizeable signing bonus or some quantity of retroactive pay.
- No language about line-holders being contactable the entire trip.

I would consider these things to be part of an "industry standard" contract.

There may be some truth to that.

For example, the regional airlines management probably get together and figure out how they can be united in their front on containing labor costs.

The pilots from different airlines get together on various forums such as this one and figure out how they can be united in doing what they feel is best for regional airline pilots as a group.

It's not unreasonable to hypothesize that different unions and MECs get together to discuss how they might be able to ram something through where one airline agreed to something concessionary and now they need the other airlines to follow suit in order to save face.

What might be nice to see is pilots vote a first offer down only to have the offer amended for the better and passing 6 months later.

NoLightOff 03-05-2014 10:51 AM

I think it would be less than 6 months in this case. There's a great sense of urgency for the company. They think this gem will have new hires lining out the door. This is an important vote because if it barely fails they'll come back with barely any improvements.

Keep starting these threads- maybe if PSA guys were educated, they might have voted no. Vote no RAH

vishal7 03-05-2014 01:56 PM

Thank you OP for starting this thread.

Vote NO for this abomination.

NoLightOff 03-05-2014 02:44 PM

XJT said no, Eagle said no...if Republic says no then there is hope. If it's a NO for Republic the only ones to thank are the good people of this site and all the ones who started all the Facebook pages and especially the ones involved in the STW page. This makes more of a difference then ALPA has ever done.

We shouldn't have to consider not eating to save money. We shouldn't be living from paycheck to paycheck while making minimum payments on our student loans and credit card debt. We have families to support and this is shameful. I'm ashamed because I'm in a way part of the problem by not walking away but there has to be better way.

If you have ideas share them. Mentor each other in a positive way and maybe something will change.

Stop being negative for just the time being and see what happens. I know it's a lot to ask on here as most of these threads go off topic in the first page with personal bashings.

If this passes all is lost. Horizon and Compass will be next. Just my guess.

I don't think Horizon is next for anything, to be honest. We voted in a contract extension in 2012 that lasts until 2018. They gave us pay raises and signing bonuses. We exchanged nothing of value in return.

Our pilot group is too old and bitter at this point to be scared of any threats.

Eagle signed a contract too and ten days later they came back for more. All management is non trustworthy.

I agree with you. Our President is retiring this year. We shall see what the new regime does.
