Is it possible that they have to inform the other pilot that they are armed? I'd want to know.
Avoid FFDO would be a nice addition to PBS :D |

My experience with firearms has been limited to my law enforcement training and that's about it. I couldn't imagine someone/company taking on the liability of training civilians to those standards. |

Meh, opinions will vary on who should and shouldn't be selected. There's plenty of cops that wanted to become one because they were tired of getting their a$$ kicked, or feel te need to have to kick peoples a$$es due to this affliction you speak of. But I've known people that were turned down with mil backgrounds. One was a gaurd pilot, the other was a firearms instructor. We have a question: Do you want to be a cop, or do you want to appear to be a cop? It's an honest question. A lot of guys just want to appear to be cops. Gun, badge, pretend they're on TV. Yeah, a lot of people just wanna slam a n word's head through a plate-glass window. |

And yeah, that was the FIRST quote that ran through my mind. Although Sheen's accent was a little over the top at times. How would you type it out to accuratetly reflect how he pronouunced it? Kyoppp, kouppp? No clue......... |

My Google-fu is failing to produce any evidence on the investigation cited in the article (plenty of hits ca. 22 Mar 2008 re the incident, but no follow-up). Anything published on that? Curious to know the outcome, simply because "the gun went off" stated in most of the articles is nonsense. The trigger was pulled--whether that was the result of mis-handling or of poor procedures is the real question.... |
TSA is a joke. Period. There is more than one major airport with ZERO keypad locks to the ramp. Anyone getting off a jet can run out to the ramp.
TSA people have too much power for their brain size. |

Try Academi. It was originally Blackwater but they were bought out. You got the money, they will train you.
Academi Looks like a great opportunity for people to get a good set of handgun fundamentals. |

Thanks for the link. All of their handgun courses combined appear to be very similar to what was taught when I went through my State's Police Academy.

It's not the Zombie. It's the government shutting down ammunition makers by buying their corporations.the last US smelting plant has closed. Now it'll have to be imported from overseas. But the government controls imports. So they won't allow it in. So yes. I'm hoarding my ammo.

When I think of the mythical ammo shortage I am reminded of P.T. Barnum and suckers. Congrats to the ammo industry for creating demand by making up this shortage in the not to distant future. Wonder how many years it will take before they have to switch tactics, maybe decades is a better tool to measure.

Anyone get any more? If any TSA people are reading this, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your service as you fearlessly and tirelessly risk your lives every day to protect our freedom. (Where the hell is that sarcasm button?) |
