Regional Job
 

Im currently working for an airlines overseas as a FO and my contract will be ending at the end of next month. Im planing to go back to the 121 regional world again. I was in a regional for almost 6 years flying rj as a fo and got one unsat (me and my capt) on the pc in 04, additionally two busts on multi commercial in 90 and CFI (oral) in 94. Since 04, I have no busts on any recurrent, company line check including FAA, A320 and B737 type ride.
I have over 5500hs total time.
Whats the chance for me to get a job from regional with my back ground in this current hiring trend?

Sounds like you should be applying for the majors with that total time and years of experience. You should be able to avoid getting hired back into the regionals.

Probably I could.. But I don't have 1000 hrs jet pic..only have 500 hrs turbine pic. I think I just need to get a regional job that can get me a fairly quick upgrade time and build up the jet pic and apply for majors.

I don't know, the majors are still holding pretty high standards on busts and stuff. They will be pretty picky until they need guys as bad as the regionals do right now. I'd say you could for sure get a quick interview at all the regionals but I'd apply to majors and regionals and if you get a call from the majors while in training for an rj take it! Good luck

PIC time is not necessary anymore. A lot of FOs have been hired with less qualifications than you have. They may have been better connected though.

Is this a serious question? Your want to know what your chances are to get hired by a Regional? Within 2 weeks there is a 75% chance of landing a regional job, within 2 months pretty much 99% or higher probability that you would have a job. Just do a search in Google News for "pilot shortage" and it will give you a good idea of what the industry has come to in the US.

Keep in mind that it has not always been like this. The OP is talking about having done ratings in '90 and '94 and he's been flying abroad for a while. When I got out of college in '94, the regionals wouldn't even talk to you for an FO slot unless you had 3000TT, 1000ME, with preferably 500 turbine.

Not that I know anything (I've never worked in 121), but at my OO interview the capt's all said "If you have anything we should know about, like a checkride bust or what have you, that's fine, just let us know now so we can talk about it in detail." I would think that a checkride bust from decades ago is not going to be a dealbreaker. But I'm a total noob when it comes to 121, so my advice is worth about as much as I'm charging for it ;)
