From what was out there, it sounded like the Teamsters and their Negotiating Committee recommended the deal and someone else said if you turn it down, management will come running back and give us more. Kind of like Eagle/ALPA.

We see how well that worked out. Looks more like local leaders a both places weren't quite as smart as they though they were.

More like once the contract was in place, they would have the forward looking financial stability to go to the capital markets to finance the growth. They (the markets) like to see that stability before they loan. No different than wanting to see job stability before giving you a mortgage.
