Really? Go look at the type and oral Fail rates of Mesaba and Colgan pilots being welcomed to 9E a couple years ago down in Memphis .Check rides from (Pink Slip Peoples) & (Washout Wilson) they were even failing guys on FAA observation rides that should be a complete nonevent . but not when you turn it into a two leg flight and a four hour oral

If you can't pass a Wilson check ride, you probably shouldn't even be driving a car to the airport. Peoples gives a very fair ride. Ive had both of them. With Colgan guys in the other seat.

there was one guy notorious (even among other instructors I hear) for pinks. But he was an equal opportunity pink, 9e/xj/9L. The type that seriously asks how may holes are in the alternate static source.

You said it yourself the tricks they pull? this is careers on the line it's a FAA Checkride there should be no tricks! There should not be maneuvers that you never trained for that you're given on a Checkride that are not required FAA maneuvers. There should be no talking during the FAA observation it's not an oral they should sit and shake your hand at the end and tell you good job.
All I'm saying is the fail rate was ridiculously high for the caliber of pilots that they were testing most of us had 6+ years experience and had seen many Checkride's and type ratings. I'm just pointing this out because of this thread I'm not here to bash anyone but it has happened and it could happen again when people don't want somebody moving on to their seniority list. |

I can't imagine anyone here would intentionally put a black mark on a newbie's record just out of spite for something that they had absolutely zero control over. I was one of those Colgan transition guys that had People's. I was given a completely fair checkride with no surprises or "gotchas". Don't judge someone based on the stories you hear. Meet them and then decide for yourself.
I hope that this flow thing actually does work because it'll finally create upward movement here that we, the current pilot group, need desperately. That being said I think it's complete BS. |
