I flew for Pinnacle. The RJ200 was my first jet. I began with Sennheiser HMEC 25 ANR's. After a long day they feel like clamps on your head just like the DC's. Then I purchased the Plaintronics MS-200 for about $150. They're a single ear light weight set and I hardly noticed that I had it on. It'll go in either ear. The RJ is a quiet plane and the single earpiece lets you hear the other crewmember during conversation. You definitely don't need to spend $1,000 on a headset. Luggage, it's the LW 22" Stealth w/computer pocket. It fits in every overhead bin. You'll never have to buy another suitcase. You can order online or at a Stopover Store in MSP, DTW, or ATL. I also purchased the LuggageWorks Stealth Duffel (Model 202A) & LUGGAGEWORKS NORDIC COOLER for a complete package. The Stopover Store is really neat. You're airline should furnish you with a uniform including a winter overcoat/raincoat. Pinnacle had a big closet in Memphis with all different sizes and we tried stuff on to be sure on the sizes.
The guy who said to always be sure to ASK for permission from the CA to ride in the jumpseat was correct. Don't get frustrated with commuting. You'll get bumped off the JS by a mainline pilot at the last minute or out of the back by a retiree's grandchild going on spring break so just have a back up plan. But, sometimes, it goes perfectly and a nice gate agent or FA will invite you up to 1st class and all is right with the world. Be extremely nice to gate agents no matter what. I'm happy to provide any additional insight...just PM me. |
I have a super nice Scott's leather case that I bought for over 400 bucks 2 years ago that I don't use anymore I ll sell to you for half if you need it, best case in the business , pm me if you want it ,
Been sitting in my closet for over 2 years now |
I don't have time to read through all 5 pages, so forgive me if these suggestions have already been put out there.
1. A good alternative to the LW stealth (15lbs empty btw) is StrongBags, who also make the best food bag. 2. I would find out if your airline provides ship headsets (Eagle does) before you buy a brand like DCs. 3. If you go the full size flight kit route, don't spend too much as I see most airlines switching to Ipads over the next couple of years, including the majors. 4. Learn to military roll your cloths to fit a weeks worth of cloths in your roller board. (Youtube it) 5. Its probably been said, but don't sleep with the FAs. |

I second the Bose QC15 + UFlyMic Combination. |
Lube, the best quality money can buy, because when SS(screw scheduling), gets ahold of you, your tater will be stretched big enough to fit a dump truck.

A friend at SKW just Facebooked me the same suggestion. I wonder if it's TSO approved. |

Always pay cash for any adult beverage transactions (that also includes food with said beverages), sleeping your way to the top doesn't work in this job, and nobody should Endeavor to be bent over ;)
