Question PamAm Boston/Maine

Can any one shed any light on PamAm/ Boston Maine Airways? What is the pay like? (There is no salary info posted on APC). Is there a union? What is their rep in the industry? I know that they operate Jetstreams and 727's. What are the upgrade times for each?

It's a union busting company. That's all you need to know in order to stay away. Don't do it.

I think it is some PFT gig, don't have much more info. but think i remember a couple guys from school thinking it was ok to go drop 20K on that since they couldn't hack the CFI course and wanted the easy way out!

^^^Wrong place^^^

They were pan-am up until a couple years ago. Re-structured and became Boston-Maine to avoid the union. They are in a constant furlough and call back cycle with the guys in the 727s although they just got some govenment contract to do Con-Air type stuff. The JetStream guys are busy, but I think they immediately furloughed 2 or 3 of the last five classes that actually happened. I know a few people that had a quick stint there and moved on. If you are flying around the North-East and you hear "Clipper 3100" that is their training callsign.

That's really sad. I'd been pretty happy about the idea of there still being a "Pan Am" out there. Sad to hear that's what it's become...

The CRJ Instructor for the airline I fly for was hired by them and quit a short time later after he found out that they are a HORRIBLE company to work for. Thats my only experience with them.

Default Do you really want to know?

If so, here is a collection of some of my experiences working there. Some comments overlap. Good luck
