[QUOTE=Slaphappy;99778]Mesa has 38 crappy erjs that delta wants to dump. From what I HEARD, mesa is begging them to let them keep flying.

Hope delts kick's J.O to the curb. I feel for the guys and gals at Mesa. You folks deserve a big hand for what you do over there, if you can move to another carrier do it, you find that you will be able to sleep better at night. ( Sh** look at me it's early hours of the morning and I'm awake waiting to go fly.)

why does skywest want more jets. we can barely fill the commitments we have now. theyre scrambling day to day to fill tons of unfilled trips because theres not enough FO's.

If SKW (or anyone else for that matter) can take jets away from mesa they will be doing all of us a HUGE favor...the industry needs to be taught the hard way that maximum employee abuse is NOT the key to prosperity, and JO is the poster-child for that.

Someone needs to expose Mesa evil operation on 60 minutes or 20/20 or something...or go to the FAA about it.

yes but if we take more jets with not enough crews we stand the risk of losing decent schedules and we could potentially get crapped on like mesa pilots do. im not saying it will happen, but you can kiss 15 days off a month goodbye

Thats why EBM seat locks are around 7 months right now. I've only worked 6.8 hours since 11/27/06. Still a little fat right now on the EMB

just ask to get hired into the EMB, fly as FO for a month or two, then upgrade.
If you have 121 time in anything (Tprop or jet) I don't think they will let you take the EMB. Where so low on the jet thats were your go.

I'm giving JA and company the benefit of the doubt on staffing...

1) I don't fly open time, but lots of folks do...if they want the money (at 1.5), that's great for them. Remember it's all volunteer, no junior manning allowed.

2) The current manpower crisis was exacerbated by the holidays, and the DEN mess. They now have a month or two to catch their breath.

3) Even if they work all of us 95 hrs/month, we still make out in the end. Let's do some math...

95x11 = 1045 OOOPS! We have an annual limit of 1000! If you fly 95/month (volunteer or otherwise) you go on vacation in late NOV, and return on JAN 01.

Does anyone know how long these interview sessions last? Wondering if I will be able to make a 5 pm flight out

its the nature of the business. The long term goal is to put other regionals out of business.
