Skywest Pilot Open Houses.

At the Skywest Pilot Open Houses, do they actually do the interview there or is it just a meet, greet and hand in your resume? I really would like to go to one but do not feel ready to interview yet. If I could snag an interview date and have a little more time to prepare then I would feel more confident; want to put my best foot forward! Anyone who has any thoughts, it would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I am torn between Skywest and XJet. Skywest interview is a lot harder with more preparation time needed and I do not have many contacts. Is it worth it?!

First of all, if you are sick of being po and hungry, you better look to another industry.

I have absolutely nothing against Express Jet. But right now I would choose Skywest if I were in your shoes. If the interview requires more preparation, so what? Do the prep!! If a job is worth getting, it is worth working hard for.

skywest has a very VERY bright future. WE expect to get most of the delta rfp. Lots of new airplanes coming.

The open house is a chance to meet some of the interviewing team in person. They will give you a brief overview of the company, collect your resumes, ensure that you meet their minimums and then give you the HR portion of the interview. You can expect an interview date soon after.

At least thats what happen when I went...Good luck.

The rumor going around mesa is that THEY are getting 80 more DAL jets...if DAL is THAT stupid, they are doomed.

Either way, I'll believe it when I see it.

Skywest or ExpressJet...

Thanks to everyone for all of your input. Keep it coming!

As a side note, it is not that I am not willing to put the work forth to get the job that I want cause Lord knows if I have come this far I can keep trucking to the light at the end of the tunnel. Plus all I want is to fly, I cannot tell you how anxious I am to just talk on the radios and push some buttons, but I just wanted to know if the extra work is worth the effort. Both companies seem to be in good shape financially with decent QOL, happy pilots, decent bases (Skywest better than XJet), satisfactory upgrade times and along with many other areas. With that said why do you believe, Saab2000, that Skywest is better? I would just like your personal opinion. This will be a huge step for me and I want to make sure I make the right choice. P.S. I feel my signature is much more appropriate...what do you think?!

By contract Skywest has to get at least 40% of all Delta growth.

Mesa has 38 crappy erjs that delta wants to dump. From what I HEARD, mesa is begging them to let them keep flying.

trust me Skywest WILL get lots of that RFP. My bet is some if not all of the 76 seat flying and most of the 70 seat flying. Mesa can have the 50 seaters most are only up for 2 or 3 years and then up for rebid again aka "get rid of"

Where are you getting this from?

Slaphappy 01-06-2007 12:06 PM

its in the DCI contract that skywest signed last summer when they bought ASA. 40% of all DCI growth goes to skywest and 80% of DCI flying in ATL goes to ASA
