I would be happy for peanuts, they are just throwing empty shells now. But better than being unemployed

Reminds me of that Texas place where you throw peanut shells on the floor. That was a treat walking in with sandals.

This.

I was yelling at my car radio as I was driving down the road today. They didn't even mention poor pilot compensation and mainline whipsaw as a reason for regional airlines feeling the squeeze.

NPR totally missed the mark. This superficial-level journalism is more suited to USA Today.

Unfortunately, even if they did discuss would the general public care? Nope. Even the fastfood workers manage to get national recognition to their ridiculous idea of a pay raise last week.

You will never see enough pilots complain about low starting wages. Too many guys/gals enjoy what they are doing. Pilots are their own worse enemy. How does this group expect to get the public on its side when you have people complain and then half of the pilots call it, "paying your dues" or retort with some statement about how they manage to make 1st year pay work by manipulating the system... Joe public thinks it can't be all that bad being a pilot if people keep showing up for work<sarcasm>.

They also did not mention how regional pilots are voting in concessions, and evidently don't want or need anything more.

Or how you have to save up to afford to take a job? How does that make sense?
