I think what he meant by that or at least the context of that was the flattening of payscales if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah i thought i put quick upgrades in there, guess I missed it, but PSA line holding FOs are probably the highest paid in the regionals thanks to their "subpar" contract. Just go find one and ask them what they bring home.

What is the likelihood of making 40k gross your second year at a regional?

It greatly depends on the company and timing. Time spent on reserve probably matters even more than slight pay scale differences. I made 40k on 2nd year pay at Skywest ($37.15/hr) because I was a lineholder for the entire year. If I had been on reserve with that pay scale I wouldn't have made $40k. Line holders not only fly more, but have more ability to pick up extra flying.

Thank you for the response. SkyWest is the regional I'm considering.

I'm a year-2 CommutAir guy and assuming things stay constant I'll hit upgrade in 2yr2mo. The LOA raising FO pay, 4 free hotels in base per month, and a solid commuter clause has made life much better. Gross pay and per diem is in the upper 30K/yr range for line holders. What the others are saying about cancellation pay is huge too. United will pull our flying down in EWR when the weather gets bad. I would have lost a lot of pay without that. I also know of 2 current C5 guys who got hired at Republic, then quit because it was so bad over there. Take it for what it's worth. Hope to see you in the baby Dash soon.

Take it from a RAH pilot. UNTIL we are able to win this hard fought battle we are in for better QOL and soft pay, as well as a fair hourly wage GO TO Commutair. Republic is currently just able to hire around 10 pilots every 2 weeks or so, so I guess the word is getting out.

Not at RAH. We have a provision that you cant swap if there is minimum reserve coverage. HINT: WE ARE ALWAYS AT MIN RESERVES.
What this means in layman terms, if you have a 13hr 3 day and want to swap for a 19hour 4 day and any of the days overlap THEY WILL DENY IT. So unless an open time trip falls in between two trips, and meets 117 rules, you might get to add it to your bid award. HINT!HINT! THEY BUILD THE PAIRINGS TIGHT ON DAYS OFF and 117 rules.

Of course every once in awhile you get lucky and a hottie asks for your number, you win the lotto, or crew scheduling is in a good mood.

Easy at any regional: just fly 1500 hours in the year.
