While I don't know any official dates or anything, I have heard from reliable sources that a majority of the DAL flying is being allocated to SKW.

Is the flying that is being given to SKW being taken from Comair?

I suspect we'll hear something from NWA after they file their reorg plan in court on the 16th.

Here is what was communicated to us yesterday from the CEO.

"And finally, Northwest has informed Mesaba that it is actively considering Mesaba as an operator for its fleet of 36 CRJ900s. The CRJ900 is a two class, regional jet that will carry 76-passengers. We are agressively pursuing this new business."

It's a carrot to get us to sign the deal. Wouldn't surprise me if they go somewhere other than here. It does seem like a nice fit for us though since the Avro's are history.

That I do not know. However the word "majority" makes me believe that CMR will lose quite a bit of flying.

Here is the lowdown for northwest rfp.

Northwest buys mesaba. Compass was created and supposed to be staffed by NWA mainline pilots. There are no main line pilots left to fly the emb175 for compass. Mesaba/Compass flies the emb175 under compass for northwest. Pinnacle flies the rj900 for northwest. There is no reason for mesaba to have any more Crj's in their fleet. All the avros are gone, so they can start fresh with a brand new plane. pinnacle on the other hand flies only crj's so the transition to the 900 would be easier and quicker then giving them a different type of plane. so in conclusion northwest buys mesaba, merges them with compass, they fly the emb175's that compass is going to receive, pinnacle flies the 900 for northwest. You guys did see that the pinnacle management just about doubled their stock holdings yesturday right?? Maybe the stock is going to be worth something real soon. started out at 5 a year ago, then 10 a couple months ago, now 17, and they just doubled their holdings??? hmm

I know it's a hair splitting point, but they actually increased their holdings on the 4th, it was filed and announced yesterday. But yes, that is a very good thing when management increases their bet on how the company will be doing in the future. I thought Pinnacle's stock was an excellent proxy play for the turnaround of Northwest. If the shares ever get a valuation that is close to what it's competitors have, it could be a significant winner.

Compass will fade into the sunset.

A number of Mesaba pilots (and instructors) have gone to to Canada for CRJ type rating.

EMB 175s will not go to Mesaba.

like i said,, mesaba doesn't need people to be checked out in rj,, they did that a long time ago when there were going to being flying them. down to just saabs now they are the ones that will get the emb175's once northwest completes the transaction. Maybe compass will go away and they will just give the emb's to mesaba straight out. There is no one left to fly for compass, they were annouced to get the 175's, mesaba is a position now to do that flying, wholly owned subsidiary.
