The fact of the matter is that plenty of guys go through the ATP programs and make just as good a pilot as myself who took 3 years to get my first pax flying gig. I would challenge anybody out there to find a doctor that finished school in less than a year. (Doogie Howser doesn't count) ;) And I don't care what ANYBODY says. 90 days to go from 0 to CFI/I/MEI is LUDICROUS. |

Well then lets eliminate the 90-day pilot-factories, who have their own 141 examining authority and give a ticket to any moron with a heartbeat and a checkbook!

I'm in favor of requiring 135 IFR mins for all applicants for 121 F/O jobs. Thats not set in stone. I'm willing to entertain higher flight hour requirements - maybe even ATP hours and rating to be a 121 pilot. Why not? Airline Transport Pilot - makes sense to me the novice looking in... Unfortunately, there has to be a movement at the pilot level to make changes to preserve the profession you have all decided on. -LAFF |

They don't give tickets to any moron with money and a heartbeat. They give it any moron that can fly to established FAA standards.

Amen to that!! I've been saying for years that they "pass" certain peops who otherwise wouldn't make it at a real school.[ LAFF please insert your post about how the rides are given by FAA inspectors  ]

Do you work for ATP? It sounds an awful lot as if you are getting commision checks from them. Sir, try to think a little outside the box. NOT everything happens as it should in this world. Are you a closet idealist?
Whay say you about 135 IFR mins or more for entry level 121 jobs? -LAFF |
