Totally agree. But at least he's asking instead of planning to accept the first telephone job offer that comes his way.

in all seriousness, in today's regional pilot job market, I'd answer every offer and have them bidding against each other. Really.

I would definitely do the same thing. No point in accepting the first offer that comes your way without seeing if there are better options.

And what airlines would that be? Give examples...

I'll say it again...TSA. No preferential hiring with a major, but you don't need it to get hired.

Try to work where you live and for a decent company. Please do your research on the companies you have in mind, you may end up answering a lot of your one questions.

Regionals all suck, some less than others, but the suck is real. The best regional is the one in the rearview mirror. So go to the one that will get you through the process as quickly as possible, ie, 121 box checked, PIC and a major job. At this level QOL is your mortal enemy because, you will get comfortable and stop moving forward, because life gets bearable. On the flip side, go to a regional that sucks, your logbook will be up to date, apps out and there is no illusion about wanting to move forward. Get in, get out, period.

The industry is a mystery to most who are looking at it from the outside, if he doesn't have any inside contacts, forums are an information source. Not so crazy after all. At least here there is some candid replies mixed into the trolling.
