$40/hr? Since when? Even is APC is outdated I feel like that would have been made common knowledge by most people on here if that was true prior to now.

I thought it was 27.something.

You are correct.

ubo, my reason for asking is to compare it to the poverty line.

My CA friend at mesa told me that his FO took home a check for zero dollars? I find that hard to believe. He claims after he pays for his insurance for the family he is left with nothing. Single FOs at mesa must take home a few hundred dollars a month right?

With a family on your insurance--yes, take-home pay will come out to around $0.

Our health insurance is the worst--not even worth the mirage of a fast uprgrade people hitting property now are pipe-dreaming of.

Wowsa!!! That was unbelievable when he told me...hell most of the stuff he tells me that goes on over there I can't believe. Well hopefully the kids signing up have their parents or spouses insurance.

Years back, Mesa FO's used to go grocery shopping together in uniform and pay with food stamps.

A friend working for them showed me the insurance plans, actually one doesn't even make enough to pay for some of the family plans...more than $800 per pay check! Very sad!

Unless you have something catastrophic happen, paying cash to see the doctor is way cheaper. Even if you end up with a 2k ER bill, the hospital cuts it in half if you don't have insurance.

Just curious, what is your reason for asking? Making any kind of employment decision based on first year pay is like buying a car based on the size of the rebate.

Isn't that why people buy Hybrids?
