ASA Interview
Can current ASA drivers recommend going there? Does it look like contract negotiations are going to finish up any time soon?
How many days off for reserve? Why are they hiring? Are people leaving due to poor working conditions, or moving on to a major? Thanks... fly safe. |
When is your interview? I interview with them on the 18. My boss recently talked to the person in charge of hiring at ASA and he was told that they need pilots because they are losing theirs to the majors. So its good news that they are moving up and causing vacancies at a lower level. But, of course that is all hear say. It could have been sugar coated. Also, I have a friend who just got hired by them that starts orientation on mon. and he was told there was a 87% chance that he would be based and trained in LAX. FYI

Hmmm. I'm sure guys are going to the majors, but there is also a lot of FO attrition. |

Good luck guys, remember to prepare. When I interviewed at SKW there were a lot of guys that didn't get hired because to poor preparation or bad attitude.
My best advise, go in with your head held high (not cocky), be VERY EXCITED, be prepared, try to have a good time, interview them (make sure it's the Co. for you), don’t BS them, admit when you don’t know something, look professional (well ironed and groomed), try to get them talking about themselves and be very personable (to both your interviewers and fellow interviewees). If they like you they WILL let things slide because in the end it comes down to whether they want to spend a 4 day trip with you and if you’re trainable. The right attitude will take you far! |
I do not think that any of you will have any trouble getting hired. Heck if there is a way that you can interview today they may even put you in class tomorrow. Last week they were asking pilots in the crew lounge if we knew of anyone that could start class on Monday. They could only fill 17 of the 20 slots.

Thanks, I am excited. The possibility is there. I have been reviewing and reviewing. Getting all my ducks in a row...

I do think that is SKW and DL do not sink this ship, the upgrades will be in the ball park of two to three years by the end of '07. There are many guys with seven plus years that are just waiting for their class dates.
