Default Submit a request to be a commuter?

Just curious if any other regional airline out there requires their pilots to submit a request to be a commuter?

I have been called in to the CP's office over this. It was something that was never covered or even hinted at when I went through orientation and indoc six months ago. I've never been late, used our commuter clause, or had to call in fatigue since I've started.

CommutAir used to require a signed form designating oneself as a commuter but a lot has changed [improved] over there since I was under employ. Compass does not require anything like this.

Several airlines require it if you are going to use the commuter clause. May also come into play if they are trying to Junior Assign you on a day off and you actually answered the phone. Its usually not so much of request form as it is just informing them officially.

Not at Mesa especially with them closing bases every few months now. I'm not sure too much of anyone lives in base now, other than in Phoenix.

Interesting, I've never heard of this before. I wonder why they want you to fill out a form?

Don't they have your address on file for benefits and/or payroll?

At TSA its not a request but a notification with the airports you use.
