Default How long will the regionals continue to hire?

Any thoughts on the recent increase of hiring activity in the industry? How long can this continue? Does anybody know about trends in the future?

Thanks

for another 10 years until there are no more good mainline domestic jobs, then competitive times for regional jobs will become 5000 total with 1000 multi.

that is unless mainline can get there scope clauses back in action

Well lets see, student starts are way down, some guys are getting out of the biz all together, more flying in the corp sector, if age 60+ passes, I'll put all of that in my magic 8 ball.....and it says try again later.

American students are not going into the flight schools. At Pan Am, the majority of the students are Chinese or Korean. There are very few American students. What does this mean? Pilot shortage in the future. Current pilots are leaving the industry due to lack of QOL and poor pay and soon there will be few low timers with SJS to fill the vacancy.

May'be we might be able to demand a livable wage and better work rules.
