Default Hiring at a regional airline!

It's my dream to be an airline pilot someday. I'm working on my PPL now. I just got back from Iraq, so I wasn't flying for an year. I have one year left in the Army (U.S). I'm originally from India, but I'm an American citizen. The reason I joined Army is because I love this country, and I know it help if you have some kind of military background. Should I be worried about any discrimination issues since I look "middle eastern"?

Don't worry about it at all. Pursue your dream without worry of discrimination. A friend of mine is Indian, with a story very similar to yours. He has not had any trouble in this industry.

I just got back from Iraq last June. I am also trying to pursue a career as a professional Pilot (not loking just at airlines but the whole gamut)

Are you a -64 driver? If so, some advice - find a commercial add-on program as opposed to starting at the PPL level. If you don't have your commercial helo, that's easy to fix with a trip to the local FSDO.

Don't see you having any trouble getting in with the companies, as you'll discover most are a multi-national gathering of players. You'll be finding people from everywhere, met a guy over here that's commuting in from moracco (sp), now he on the contrary is simply a lil' crazy. But, says he lives like a King over there...even on his F.O. pay.
