PDT to open PHL

Opening PHL as the 145 base and as a DHC 8 base...

Good news for commuters !

chrisreedrules 07-10-2015 11:28 AM

Great news! That means PSA's new base announcement shouldn't be too far behind.

What does a base announcement at Piedmont have anything to do with where or when PSA will open a base?

inverted pilot 07-10-2015 12:10 PM

Hey guys. I have recently gone through training at Piedmont and can give a little bit of advice on what to expect or answer any questions you have about the company. Things here are looking pretty positive and you all should at least consider Piedmont as a serious option. The no-interview flow in your back pocket is a good thing to have in case the other majors don't end up knocking down your door with a job offer. Always good to have options. Fly safe.

Because it means AAG is starting to figure out and map their regional feed.

Systemized 07-10-2015 03:05 PM

PSA will have a significant increase of DCA flying next month. At lot of 700/900 flying out of DCA that I'm guessing republic was doing before. Maybe it's picking up for Republic or shuffling around the AAG feeders with more DCA flying down the road and possibly a new crew base.

i have a lot of friends at AWAC and a huge amount of respect for those guys, huge. That being said, I'm glad the increases in flying are going to the wholly owneds. Quite frankly the way it should be. Membership has its privileges... That kinda thing.

buddies8 07-10-2015 03:24 PM

You can have the parker dca regional ops. What a pi ss hole.

The only increase of flying to be proud of is when it goes back to mainline. Not some underpaid regional dump.

Thanks sugar tank, we actually ALL agree about that. Bringing it back in house is a step....a small step... In that direction. But seriously thanks for that brilliant insight

Stetson29 07-10-2015 06:00 PM

Heard PSA is getting a MX base and a crew base in Cincinnati.
Any truth to this rumor?

Only a MX base, not crew base.

Shouldn't this question be in one of the 15 PSA threads?

You guys taking over the ZW Hangar in PHL for MTC for the 145's?

Day4mx 07-11-2015 07:02 PM

Negative. Awac CEO says that stays awac.

DCA has been shrinking at RAH for some time now. Your second option is pointing is the right direction. An NYC area base is heavily anticipated at RAH, and all signs are pointing to ops being redirected there. We've have auditors at JFK since early fall preparing for it.

Lol... Take your membership and shove it up your a$$!! I hope your AWAC friends take a swing at you with the crash ax. Tool of the day nominee right here!

It's a step in the wrong direction. Piedmont's increase came at envoys expense. Flying went to a lesser paying airline. Same planes. Less pay.

Look at the bright side! Envoy gets 175's with less pay. Your comparison is flawed.

LOL. Nope, they all know why we did what we did and don't blame us one bit. Choose not to know the whole story of how we were leveraged into that deal is on you. I really don't care sweetheart

Realtalk 07-12-2015 07:17 AM

The funny thing is without AWACS loan to us airways in bankruptcy who knows where pdt would even be if awac had not loan them the $$$.

Bringing the flying "in-house" is better? Sure if you mean being paid much less to do the same thing then yes that's good for you bud. Good for all of us!

We are all aware of that. But ya, it is better in house.

Don't spoil their celebrating with truth, they don't get it anyway.

When your MEC chairman, Bill Sprague and ALPA national literally LAUGHED in the PDT neg comm's faces when they told the group AAG would be coming to us and that they needed to make a deal beforehand otherwise we would for survival... Bill even came up to them AFTER and told them that would never happen. Ask your current MECC if you don't believe me.

That's the truth.

I'd like to see that under the current pay scale and contract. But I somehow doubt AAG sees it that way.

Well I certainly saw the results of your repeated no votes. Less of an offer each time. No thanks. I chose to take an offer I found more than acceptable and one that lets me enjoy my stable job and grows my airline. Oh well.

Coneydog 07-12-2015 10:12 AM

If regional airlines would just ban together and not vote any concessions, then scumbags like Doug Parker wouldn't get away with the sh!t he does. You do know he is laughing all the way to the bank because he knows he played everybody. ALPA has really failed us (regional pilots) in that regard. In this climate, it's virtually inconceivable that pilots still vote in concessions. And being WO'd by a Doug Parker ran airline wouldn't leave me with a very comforting feeling. That man wouldn't think twice about letting your family starve if it meant another dollar in his pocket.

victormike 07-12-2015 10:26 AM

Anyone know what's going on right now with hiring. Im expected to get to mins in a month and I haven't gotten a call to interview yet. A Philly base would be driving distance for me so thats pretty great.

So much amount of respect that all 3 WO voted in crap contracts so they could get the flying.

Half our fleet dies at 80k cycles in a year and a half. Deal with it.
