Default Will Comair Pilots Strike?

Looking at the most recent Comair News...things are not looking that good. There is only one more day of negotiations between ALPA and Comair management. Comair magagment has decided to use Thursday, a day that was supposed to be used for negotiations, to go to court to block a strike by the Comair pilots. Friday is the last day of the "truce". Saturday morning at 00:01 concessions could go into place. I really hope they agree on something soon...this could get ugly.

We, the current students at Comair, have no clue what is going on. We all enjoy being where we are and hope it continues that way. If you google Comair News you will see the latest articles. I'm really just fishing for rumors. I was hoping someone on the line with Comair would pipe in and give us a little tale of things to come in the future.

At this point, the next two days should unfold and all of the answers we have been looking for should be answered. I personally hope they stike. I happen to HATE airline management and think ALL airline pilots need to unite and force management to PAY THEM MORE MONEY.

Bottom line is...we are the future when it comes to flying for the majors. WE are the ones who will decide our own destiny. We can either be strong and unite...or we can let management walk all over us. UNITE!!!

First of all a reference please.... and on a side note you say a student at Comair???? are you in initial ground or at the academy???? I noticed your position is listed as "C-5 first pilot" that leads me to believe that you are a galaxy A/C commander.... If you have a title like that up there and you are NOT not currently or ever were in the past a A/C commander in the galaxy that would make you A DOUCHE BAG.... clarify a bit here please...... and on side note if you are a former galaxy commander why are you not at a mainline????

Tomorrow (02/01), the judge is going to rule on whether we (CMR pilot group) can strike. Like Pistol stated, that was supposed to be a day for negotiations. The company has actually made more demands of the pilot group in recent sessions in the past week. No real info on specifics, due to the mediator's info black-out. There is informational picketing scheduled for Feb 2, and this could well be a dress rehersal for the real thing.

IF the judge does not allow us to strike, the company is also awaiting a judgement to see if they can impose portions of their proposal, or if they have to impose everything that they put in front of the judge. If they can impose portions of their proposal, then they are going to impose only the bad stuff. All the annual cost of living increases, restoration of longevity, profit sharing will NOT be part of their imposed work rules. All of this and the company is making money!

Congrats to everyone that has a new job here at Comair, I hope that you get what you need from your time here, but DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THAT ANY MANAGER SAYS!!! Especially the ones with offices in the GO!

To answer the initial question...I HAVE NO PROBLEM WALKING!!!

Dam!! No love for the C-5 Air National Guard Pilots! First pilot just means that I can fly left or right seat in the Galaxy...depending on what kind of mood I'm in when departing UAFM. I don't have the 1000 PIC turbine for the majors yet and thought doing both the Comair thing and the military would be fun.

There was a Comair crew with us on the bus the other morning, and the captain was very excited about the prospect of a strike - especially now that the deadline has been pushed back so that Saturday will be the first day of the strike
