That was a cheap shot, but not surprising coming from you. I'd rather see you leave than him. He built a very large and successful business from very small beginnings. He treats his employees better than other regional airlines do. He deserves respect for what he built .

100% agree. After talking to both, I would take JA over CC any day. JA is a good businessman but you know that he feels connected to a company he built. CC is a glorified bean counter that won't listen to anything unless you can show him how it will make money. Sad day for SW.

I was fortunate enough to have Jerry in the Jumpseat. All the rumors of his good character were true.
After the flight a Skyw pilot needed help and he got on his phone and made some calls.

I believe he has been almost out the door for a while, as in there really won't be much of a transition period.

Even sadder for Expressjet/ASA guys. If Chimp can show any positive cash flow from chaining the doors shut, he will. Anybody who knows SKYW, is concerned, very concerned. Jerry understood the reality of employees in a service industry, Chimp is clueless in ways, that are hard to fathom. Under Chimp the slide down the wormhole has accelerated, it comes from the disconnect that SGU has with the rest of the company. When Jerry was the Prez, I had him in my actual jumpseat 4-5 times, he actually came up to me in SFO and asked me how things were going, chimp, have never seen him in person, and couldn't tell you what he sounds like. Chimps disconnect with the troops makes it easier to send them into the void.
Not looking forward to the future of SKYW Inc.

When chimp took over, Jerry became the Idea/Concept guy, while he didn't have his hands on the tiller he did direct the process. Make no mistake, this is a paradigm shift, the magnitude is yet to be determined.

If it makes you feel any better, JA will remain as the Chairman of the Board.
