Go jet Bases/Aircraft

Does anyone know the break-down of which aircraft types fly out of which bases for Go-Jets?

Thank you,

Captain O

Yeah. Go to Mesa instead.

ELOHeL.

I'm not a company cheerleader and don't recommend people come here at this point, but do you know why we're perpetually a contract behind everyone else? Freedom Airlines, the alter ego company JO started. Exactly what GoJet is to TSA. Our negotiating committee managed to kill it, but doing so put our contract behind the rest of the industry in perpetuity. I hate hating certain pilots, but I do: the guys at AA who voted in the first B-scale, the mainline pilots who sold out scope, and the Freedom A-listers who now cherry-pick their day trips or work in management. I have nothing but disdain and contempt for them and their actions. Tell me, what would your position on Freedom be if it was still around?

FaceBiter 01-04-2016 10:36 AM

No, you're like 3 contracts behind everyone else. It's because of people like you still filling classes for the hope of a quick upgrade. All for bottom of the barrel wages and rules.

Don't blame it on anyone else.

K.

By the way, I came 4 teh basez.

Thanks Guys!

I'm an 8 year FO at Endeavor (recently told no at Delta's Guaranteed interview) and just wanted to see what my options are. Thank you!

Aren't you close to an upgrade at 9e anyways? Or you just bitter that you got turned down at daddy delta?

pa28dakota 01-05-2016 10:05 AM

8 year 9E FO? Umm...stay put and upgrade, get PIC time, then move on to one of the other majors? You'll likely upgrade at 9E quicker than you would by starting over at another regional seeing as the super quick upgrades are more or less over.

With 8 yrs, even in the right seat, you should have more options than Delta.

There are about 100 former 8 year Endeavor FO's at PSA alone, and more scattered around other airlines as well. I would imagine that you are friends with some of those guys. Give them a call and ask them how their lateral move worked out. No one can understand your situation better than them, and their advice might actually mean something. The ones that came to PSA are all Captains now and most are pretty happy.

Captainobvious 01-05-2016 10:25 AM

Still about a year to upgrade. Maybe a few months less

Very True! I do have a friend from my new hire class 8 years ago and left for PSA about 8 months ago. He's already a captain! Perhaps PSA would be the best bet. Plus they have a flow at American! it may be a slow flow, but at least I know I'm not going to work their for 5-8 years and then find out "sorry but you're not delta material, now go fly our passengers around at Endeavor for lower pay" at a Delta guaranteed interview.

I am not necessarily recommending PSA. I am just saying that there are scores of former Endeavor guys that know what you are going through and made the jump. They can probably give you much more relevant advice than anonymous people on the internet.

With your flight time I wouldn't even be looking at a regional. Look at LCCs or even another legacy. Network network network and go to career fairs.

Statistically speaking, the guaranteed interviews over the years have proven to be "less than worthless". You have a better chance off the street than with your guaranteed interview. First of all the interviewers do not like to be told who they are going to hire, and they don't want to cause double training events because if they take one of their express guys they have to pay to train him and pay to train his replacement.

In late 1991 Pan Am and Midway both went under and as part of certain deals with the Mexico routes, and with ALPa they pilots were given interviews. Pan Am pilots had a 15% hiring rate and Midway had a 14% hire rate. Off the street was around 25%. Basically they took the pilots that fit certain categories that the government was forcing them to meet quotas on. The rest were mainly tossed.

Other guaranteed interviews were all about the same. For some reason every few years they have these flows and in-between they have their ways out of the flows. A guaranteed interview is really a negative thing.

Wow, your post is so ridiculous I hardly know where to start...

"You have a better chance off the street than with your guaranteed interview." Better chance of what??? If you are referring to actual interview pass rate then duh, they CHOSE your app out of thousands to come in for an interview... Arguably the hardest part of getting a job at a major. A guaranteed interview gets you in the door, in front of those thousands. Of course the percentage of people from a guaranteed interview that get a CJO will be lower vs. OTS because they normally wouldn't have even called you in the first place... So tell the 300+ guys at Endeavor with CJO's that having a guaranteed interview is "less than worthless". Reality check needed for you.

Perhaps you are right. I was assuming that the person being interviewed was qualified for the interview. I see that you are assuming the opposite, that the person being interviewed is not qualified to get the interview on his own.

Looking at reality I really don't see why the person is not qualified for the interview. Just because there are thousands of applications does not mean that the applicants are any more qualified. Lets assume that the guaranteed guy is actually better qualified as they were in my examples. The statistics still show that the guaranteed interview guy still has a lower chance of getting the job.

The guaranteed interview is a devise used to deceive. It is less than worthless because it is a negative. The company does not want you there, they want you to stay where you are as long as they can.

And one last thing. The regional puts out posts indicating that the guaranteed interview is basically a sure way into the major, that it is just a formality. It is a recruitment devise for the regional, nothing else.

Flight benefits

If you're at a dual base like STL or RDU do you get flight benefits on both Delta and United?

Papa Bear 01-06-2016 08:09 PM

Holy crap 8 yrs. What have you been doing? I guess you put all your eggs in one basket. Can't do that. Do you know what the strongest human emotion is besides fear...HOPE!

Go get on anything besides an RJ.
Everyone is hiring!!!
