i'm not at colgan...

dingo222 02-11-2007 04:29 PM

haha......kinda funny that i keep hearing that pcl bought our q400's. They sure as hell didn't pay enough for our operation, they aren't making enough flying for NW or they wouldn't have to go to bk court to get back pay for work they did. The q400 is going to buy pcl those shiny new jets they want.

Does Colgan own any of their Saabs, or are they leased?

colgan own a saab? hahahhaha Wells Fargo my friend, Wells Fargo

dingo222 02-11-2007 05:32 PM

colgan owns more than half of them, I think 29 of the saabs. The rest are leased. I'm not sure about the 1900's. We also own a lot of the routes we fly for us airways, and some of the gates at various airports. Makes you wonder how th 20 mil came into play. There's more to this deal than has been made public. We will find out when they have to file the public SEC filing after the deal closed.

I believe some of the leased ones are owned by pinnacle as well. If you recall PNCL did have saabs before the -200's showed up. *As I understand it*- some were sold, some were "leased" to mesaba to operate, and some where parked- later "leased" to colgan and a few to someone else. The number I heard was 10 saabs. My source on this was a Mx guy that had evidently been around since the jetstream/saab days. He told me all this as he was pulling numerous breakers on the "reset jet" and telling me how he likes how these are soo easy sometimes, and other times are a major headache compared to the props. I dunno if any of it is true- but I am curious to find out.

Yes this is true, something is up, should be interesting indeed

DMEarc 02-11-2007 08:56 PM

Not to mention, Colgan is no $20 million company. The deal should have been more like $200-300 million

You're joking, right?

Did you see how much AirTran offered for Midwest?

Good point, but CJC has near 50 airplanes...

Are you telling me those airplanes alone are worth less than $450,000/each? Not to mention, the buildings, hangars, route structure and name.

There is something that we aren't hearing about...this just doesn't add up.

JoeyMeatballs 02-13-2007 01:32 PM

I Agree, I am afraid to find out what it is :( DMEarc, whats your thoughts?

No, not when CAL had lower bids for the Q flying from other companies but chose COLGAN because of our performance in IAH. PNCL didn't earn the flying, we did. They're just helping finance it.

My thoughts about what?

Slaphappy 02-17-2007 10:18 PM

another reason why if the skywest pilots vote alpa onto property they deserve the 7 year upgrade that will come with it.

please...colgan stole money from pinnacle

people think about planes...when in fact a majority of the planes are leased at colgan. the parts department is hardly even a parts department. everything has to be ordered or brought in from somehwere else...or my favorite borrowed off of a broke airplane as colgan will say is "more borke than the other one"

it all comes down to a certificate...that is what they want first and foremost

also the codeshare partners in airways, co, and ual. that expands their horizon.

but what the most important thing is with the new certificate...are you ready for this...

will get them around any scope clause with nwa...so if three years down the road they want to bid for flying with lets say delta...they can get around a clause with nwa and put the new flying at colgan...

ie...freedom and shuttle america

shuttle america certificate was bought for i believe a million or less and they flew saabs...

200-300 million is like a a pre-school kid coming to the airport saying his dad owns a 172 and it cost 300 million dollars...

colgan was quick to sell...the got 10mil up front and i believe it was a note for 10mil in a year...and probably some sort of agreement for the time being for the family to keep their job...

the question i have is...will he start another company...that is all the family knows...hell all of them work there

YOU'RE BOTH RIGHT!

No, they weren't about to drop us, that is a lie. Our operation stats out of IAH are pretty impressive, actually. SAAB, stop spreading that rediculous information.

98% completion rate and a 86% on-time percentage. I don't have any documentation of this, just a conference call.

With that being said, CAL didn't pick us because of our good performance out of IAH......We're cheap.

haha yeah I dont have any documentation either, just rumors :)

STR8NLVL 02-23-2007 07:40 PM

I know you didn't have any documentation because as was just stated, our numbers have been spot on!

CAL has been impressed with how quickly Colgan got up and running and they're numbers are really good for completion and on-time, exceeding CAL's requests.

And no, its not because we're cheap, because there was a cheaper bid put in, but they chose Colgan because they felt Colgan had delivered for them once and could again.
