You may have just started a trend. You are correct, contract airlines is exactly what they are.

Look at all those socialists and how expensive their healthcare is. Do you want to guess how many of their citizens go broke fighting cancer?

I see this and think of how many lawyers are eager to sue driving the malpractice insurance up. Combine that with everyone who needs back surgery now form a fender bender so they can substantiate their lawsuit.
You are very naive.

Regionals, which have already undergone a dramatic and debilitating restructuring brought on by changes to their capacity purchase agreements with legacy partners since the Great Recession, have been facing an historic pilot shortage engineered by mainline pilots, which is the lynchpin of their many problems.
Engineered by WHO?!?!

Oh wait... it's a Forbes article: gotta blame labor for management mistakes at every opportunity.

And since people pay for a lot of health care out of pocket, you would be naive to think it is in the industry's best interest to actually heal patients. Anyone need anti-depressants?

I would love to see a doctor willing to perform back surgery on someone who doesn't need it. If you can find one, I'll again point you to the capitalization of health care.

Here is a quote from an article I found. Google is your friend:

"It has been estimated, for example, that 10 percent of medical services cost is linked to medical malpractice litigation and defensive medicine practices; a study conducted by the Department of Human and Health Services estimated the direct cost of medical malpractice at 2 percent of health care spending "

So, where is the rest of the 25% increase in cost that you attribute to litigation as compared to the next highest country?

You forget. With single payer you'd likely be suing the government. Think about that.

Regardless, the health care is great in the US.

If you can get it.

This is the land of the We're Told We Are Free, We're Brave To Send Our Kids Off to Useless Foreign Wars, and the Screw You I've Got Mine.

Let them die. They should've got a better job with Cadillac health care with that unaffordable college degree from a culture that doesn't want them to succeed.

I'm all for single payer. This never should have been for-profit, one's life shouldn't hinge on their birth lot in the US.

Congress would be barbequed and would likely be the coup-de-grace for regional carriers using low-time pilots.

Besides, all such a roll back would do would be to provide a temporary relief to the industry as the real problem ISN'T the higher experience minimums, it's the combination of excessive cost to obtain a crap job that pays like garbage and provides even worse treatment. People aren't interested in that anymore, when they can make much better $ in other industries and get treated 1000% better while doing it. It's going to get to the point in 6 or 7 years where even the legacies will have a pilot shortage as all the present regional pilots will not be accepted and the regionals will be just about dead at that point.

That's what ultimately happens when you turn a once respected and difficult to obtain profession into nothing more then that of "just another job". They've patted themselves on the back for the ability to decimate this profession and the chickens are coming home to roost.

Because I don't have my head buried in Donald Trump's hindquarters? You are organized labor. It is more embarrassing that you are conservative than it is for me being liberal. Hey, in other news, that isn't proof. Lots of other people on this site agree with what I'm saying.

Want less expensive health care?

Deregulate healthcare, allow foreign drug manufacturers into the US market, revamp the FDA...

...and let the free market INCREASE supply to offset the increase in demand.

It's really quite simple. The reason it isn't is not because of capitalism per se. It's all the over-regulation.

No, because you are an uneducated idiot. Proven by your own words, no less.

Lemmings will always flock together. That isn't an endorsement.
