And I have dental and vision for just a few bucks more. I have my daughter on my insurance with full benefits (dental and vision included ) for 140$. This to me matters the most and I would not leave AWAC for anything less. Our monthly also went down not long ago. We also offer the Vitality program, pays for your gym membership and earns you reward points that you can claim for a bunch of other things.

That's why everything was so expensive when I visited last summer! Good to know, and that should help someone starting out, based in SFO.

I wouldn't necessarily call it "free" health care. You're going to pay for it at some point. Just look at what it costs to live in San Fran.

PSA
~ $110-120/month in premiums for a single - works out to around 33% premium and total cost share with anthem BCBS as the holder. The company is self-insured
-$500/$1000 deductible/max out of pocket
-includes dental but no vision
-rx are low cost and co-pays are good considering various services
-Anther plan/option available with a lower deductible/max out of pocket and higher premium, but higher overall cost when factoring in the combined cost of higher premiums and hitting the lower deductible.
-Part of the concessions PSA took in the summer of 2013 included raising the pilot's share of health care costs from around 25% to 35%
Regionals with the best health care plans are;
Horizon
Expressjet
Air Wisconsin
The worst are;
Mesa (worst CBA)
Skywest (no CBA)
Health Insurance and 401K at PSA are middle of the road at best.

I'm a new FO and if I took the insurance, I'd be having to pay them $$ to work here. I don't have figures in front of me, I need to dig them up again, but once I glanced at it, I knew I wasn't gaining to make the $$ to even think about it.

That's absolutely criminal! I find this astounding and can't believe this hasn't been talked about more! With the abysmal pay and sky high premiums what keeps someone there?
