Ah, makes sense. On that note, what is the usual ZED priority? Before or after all the space avail. non-revs?

If I understand correctly, ZED is basically non-rev, just the lowest priority, and you pay just prior to boarding?

ZED (zonal employee discount) is space available travel on an airline that is not your own. All airlines have it to allow travel on each other. You pay in advance and your listing priority is below all employees of that airline.*

*Unless you work for a non-wholly owned American Airlines regional, in which case your normal travel benefits are equivalent to zed.....which is why I switch to the United side at my company. I don't feel like being hassled every time I commute to work because American doesn't value me enough for me to nonrev easily.
