And how is that different from the Blowjet guys.....they will be the first in line to take a job at Norwegian because hey, its all about building your time and getting out of there...

I thought there was a shortage of pilots both domestically and internationally. So if a company like NAI were to lower wages and benefits, wouldn't that further deepen the pilot shortage? I mean who wants to invest the time and capital in becoming a pilot if it continues to not be a viable career.

I agree with you. Although, as long as this job pays somewhat better, seems cooler, is viewed as a way to get more heavy time, or whatever, the job will be around. That may be 5 years. A LOT can happen in five years. Is your company strong enough to go 5 years in the red. Doubtful. An ounce of prevention....

I think a key difference is that it's far harder to finance your own flight training in Europe than it is in the United States. A lot of pilots over there have to do it by becoming indentured servants to carriers like Ryan Air or NAI.

By the way, if you've taken action on NAI through the ALPA emails, there's now a bill HR 5090 to essentially stop NAI, and you should have an email to quickly and easily encourage your Representative to support that bill in your inbox. Quick and easy. Let's follow through.
