For a new captain (at $72/hr) that equals...

100 hrs/month: $7,200
150 hrs/month: $10,800
200 hrs/month: $14,400
250 hrs/month: $18,000
300 hrs/month: $21,600

Pretty easy if done right.. we have a lot of senior captains that have 4 vacation periods. Basically if they use 2 vacation periods in a single month they have the whole month off. The company is offering, if you ask to buy back your vacation for 2x what it is worth.. Now if they pick up 5 four day trips at triple premium that is - min of 16 x 4 x 5. That good sir is 320 hours plus the vacation buy back. I personally know 2 captains that did that but only picked 4 trips with an FO that did well over 320 hours last month

I looked at our open time.. Thomorrow there are still 7 trips available in open time for captain just on the dash. It is gotten very very desperate out there.

Wow. Looks like everyone is doing better than AWAC. 150% for anything picked up in open time. 3 hour min day. 2:1 duty rig and 4:1 trip rig which do help from time to time.

Yes indeed. I have been shooting for at least 150 hours each month...that gets me over 10K.

Okay, that's not the norm then. For a normal line holder, 300 is unachievable unless you use two weeks of vacation.

I'm curious what current premium pay and min day / rig provisions are current at regional carriers these days.

I know Endeavor is 150% for open time and any time over 85 hours. Just looking for other examples.

Thanks.

PSA has a convoluted 125% on additional days that I suspect you know all about. Oh yeah, and that CCP the company likes to ignore whenever they can.

Someone who has been a captain for 6 years that would be $26,880/month.

For a 10 year captain that is $31,360/month.

And for the most senior captains (18 years with the company) that is $35,520/month...

Man is the IRS going to love these guys!

I don't always get paid, but when I do, I prefer the premium type!

MKUltra 07-05-2016 12:39 PM

A regular line holder can get about 130 to 150 credit in a regular month right now. If you wanted to work this past holiday i heard crazy deals were being given... and i mean cray cray deals.

disillusioned 07-05-2016 03:33 PM

SkyWest gets 115% if the trip is over 10 days out, 130% if it is 5-10 days out and 150% if it is within 5 days of the trip starting. But if you call them and ask for a trip within 5 days, they will just assign it to a reserve. Because we have enough reserves to keep from paying 150%, but not enough to let you drop a trip, or a turn on your last day where you sit at your base for almost 4 hours before the last round trip.

Oh and if you have a 2 day and you try to trade for a 3 or 4 day trip that is listed at premium pay, you only get premium pay for the days you were off. Some of our guys are getting paid 120 hours on top of the 95 that they award you on your bid each month!! Plus we save an extra 2% each month by not paying union dues! /sarcasm
