And said lawsuit will show up on any background check, that's public record and easily searchable on the internet. The majors are going to love that...

I thought the AAG regionals ask for a 2 year commitment to keep all the bonus money.

I don't know the details of the AAG offer, but returning bonus money is different than having to pay, out of your own pocket, to pay a company for your training if you leave for another offer. Two different things entirely. One is returning money that they gave you over and above your salary, i.e., a bonus. The other, is going to your own savings and writing a check for as much as $12K. ...... |

I'm not sure if that is true or not. It might be. Either way, it just reinforces -- Don't sign a training contract.
If the lawsuit was filed in a location that can linked to you (ie home address, or HQ of previous employer) then they can probably find it easily. The fed has created one national database for serious crimes (convictions and arrests). There is no such database for civil matters, but in many cases it's not hard to dig up the info. |

It's true. Court records (criminal and civil) have always been a matter of public record. In the past you had to go to the courthouse in question to search for records but most jurisdictions have moved that online.

Conclusion is the same. DO NOT SIGN A TRAINING CONTRACT. |
I'm literally packing to go to Dayton for initial training for PSA. I leave in the morning. I have their letter regarding the two year contract in my baggage.
What it is, regards only the bonus they are going to pay me upfront. That $15,000 all goes back to them if I don't stay a year (with some exceptions) and then it's pro-rated. ie, If I stay a year and then leave, I keep half. If I stay a year and a half I keep 3/4 of it, etc. I'm ok with signing it because I plan to stay until retirement age. You can hire on, not take the bonus and there is no longevity commitment. This is significantly different than a training contract. |

If you take the bonus (Paid in lieu of training pay) at Republic, you sign a 24 month contract.
So you're saying you did not get payed during training, because you took the bonus? Doesn't seem right for Republic, because they love new hires! They get money thrown at them (and maybe a Bose Headset). I do believe they require you to repay the bonus if you leave before 24 months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

New Hires Signing Training Contracts?

The bonus is not in lieu of training pay. But yes it is a 24 month (pro rated) commitment if you take the bonus.
Gotcha that makes sense. I guess if a pilot didn't take the bonus, they could leave whenever. Not a training contract though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
