Republic Questions
A few questions for those at Republic:
>Are they hiring into all 3 fleets right now?
>Are 121 Jet guys doing the PCATD sim at the interview?
>Do they allow you to bypass a classdate for another fleet? Or do you just get un-hired at that point?
Thanks....

As an FO why would you bypass a class date for the 170 vs. the 145? You get the same sheisty pay no matter which tube you're in.

As for the sim during interview, it is hit and miss.
You could bypass, but you are giving up seniority. Linda will go over that during the interview. She will tell you the process, if there is still any for bypassing.
As for the person questioning you for bypassing and the crappy pay: I would suggest against bypassing for a specific plane, but the guy may want a certain base that the plane he wants is located.

They are hiring for 145, crj(both CHQ) and 170 for Republic. I do not think Shuttle has any classes.

I don't think I have the balls to turn down a classdate for either reason, but I was wondering how common it might be to bypass. If it seems even slightly taboo I wouldn't even think about it.

People have bypassed, but I wouldn't recommend it. I had to bypass a 170 class date but set up a 145 class date in the same phone call, so it's been done. Like the person above said though, you're giving up seniority, which with the hiring we're doing now...skipping one class means 20 more people above you. Do you know what aircraft operates out of the base you want? What base is that, by the way? You have a pretty good shot at getting any of the aircraft that we are operating, although it's probably a greater chance you'll be on the CRJ/145 for CHQ. If you can get on the 145, do it.

I interviewed a week and a half ago. Linda made it sound like if you bypass, she might not offer another class date. She said that if she offers you a class date, she wants you in that class. That said, if you want to try to fix it so you get the class you want, set up the interview so that if you got hired, your resignation notice time would put you in a certain class (if you know when classes are scheduled for). They want to put you in the first class they can, or so it seems. So if you need to give 2, 3, or 4 weeks notice, they'll give you the first class after that.
