Yeah I wished he would have called or at least introduced himself. It was a FA, so he wasn’t trying for the JS. We really don’t control the seats in back, that’s the gate agents. I would have definitely made known that the YX FA should have gotten a seat though.

I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon. Republic pilots are suppose to list via D6 for JS, if the back is full. We’ve been specifically told not to use AAC for JS. Most guys list for both and take JS if back is full.

AAC FDJ is just a comment in the system. The problem is that AAC’s aren’t CASS verified which is why they have to cancel their AAC and then re-list as a D6UJ. The system is broken for sure, and people try to exploit it. I had a Mesa guy come down for the jumpseat one day as an AAC. The agent just handed him the 1W meanwhile there were others on the list who checked in before him. That’s not the way it works. Had to send him back up and take the first D6UJ.

Did you go up to the gate and inform them you were AAC traveling on your own aircraft. Unfortunately the system sucks and the only way the agent will know you get priority, is if you tell them. According to Republic travel department, AA is not planning to change the current system.
