There is no training backup at 9E. The delayed class dates are because they are hiring a small fraction of what they were this time last year. Only makes it faster to get to the near constant ready reserve at the bottom of the reserve seniority list; though. The bottom 10 or so in each seat get hit hard, and with movement as slow as it is now, some guys and gals might be sitting 50+ days ready reserve the first half of 2019.

To clarify that - the equipment lock is until you upgrade, not 2 years. And however small the chance of getting all-175 class is, it is real.

Let’s put it this way. I interviewed in December. Got an offer January 2nd. They said October but probably sooner. Now it appears the LIFT people are bumping me back for an official CJO and class date. Yesterday I was told that October is still a possibility. But that’s all that was communicated to me. FWIW any LIFT people going to Republic now had a CJO from Republic BEFORE they started as a CFI at LIFT. That means the guys going now had a CJO as early as June.

They were all CFIs somewhere else, interviewed, were offered CJOs and then were offered jobs as CFIs at LIFT until ATP mins.
