Boston

Airports served summary for August 2019 is showing 40 daily departures from Boston. In August 2018 we had 17. Compare this to our other bases for August 2019.

IAH: 36
CMH: 39
MCI: 16
PIT: 27
MIA: 44

Could something be happening at Boston? Time will tell!

Last week Delta officially hubbed Boston so I think a lot of that flying is Delta flying. And apparently the Rev has been in the training center recently starting Boston base rumors.

It’s DL flying, not AA. MCI-BOS, for example, is showing operating 3 times per day in October (up from 2). All operated by us. 9E used to fly that route exclusively.

BB: “we know we need to expand west and that’s what our crews want.”

Also BB: “we’re opening Boston.”

Another crew base in the northeast is the last f’ing thing this company needs.

Latest rumor I heard was they are in the process of setting up in house Mx there and our delta flying would be greatly expanded there.

I’d bid Boston

TheNotoriousPIC 06-25-2019 05:44 PM

If we are doing 40 departures a day from Boston then contract stipulates we get a crew room there. Not sure that we'll get one because we still don't have one in Charlotte.

Close IND and CMH, open BOS and CLT. #longlivehubs

IND is never gonna close. They just signed a new 10 year lease for HQ last year. CLT would be cool, at least that hub is affordable on regional pay.

There’s actually sone CA spots for Chicago. Right now. You could say it’s growing or everyone’s tired of reserve.

TheWeatherman 06-27-2019 05:43 PM

It's the latter. FO spots actually drop a few in the projections and there are zero vacancies.

Jungle Jim 06-28-2019 07:14 AM

Heard some interesting juice from the crew roominati today...BOS expected to grow up to 70 daily departures by year's end, Compass and Gojet planes coming to YX/9E respectively, hangar/base facility shopping at BOS w/target opening in November, and Skywest finally out of LGA by year's end as well presumably to takeover lost Compass flying out west. If all that is the case, could be some interesting things happening second half of this year.

This is why I don’t go in crew rooms

I bet they heard it from the all knowing gate agents.

Funny. I’ve operated that route many times the past year...and I’m “us”!

As have I. I’m referring to when the route was started (i.e. before we started flying it). 2 per day flown by Endeavor. Now I believe it’s 1 on us and 1 on 9E.

We’re getting GoJet CRJs? Yeah, not gonna happen.

He said “respectively” so 9E would get CRJs. All fantasy and I wouldn’t want to see this at the cost of another pilot group, but management will do whatever they’re going to do.

One can only trust information that comes from an FA that’s dating a super senior checkairman. 😎

Interestingly enough, my roommate flies for Skywest and the news going around their company as well is that they’re leaving LGA to cover more out west flying

They have about 30 175SCs which they mostly fly out of LGA.

That's because the Rev. doesn't want to be out west where all the pot smokin' hippies are fornicating while unwed or with the same sex. Too much sin out there. Stay #blessed

Explains why he chose Indy as HQ. Perhaps the most boring, straight edge city in the country.

Unless you're into methamphetamine and truck stop hookers.

Not to stir the pot or get my hopes up but new hire here. Director of flight ops came in today and said he could “answer if Boston will be a base in 14 days”. I’m to much of a pessimist to put stock into it but definitely got my attention

Much like the “we start taking 32 compass airplanes in June” rhetoric I heard. Sigh...

I would take the Mike Dee shop talks with a very fine grain of salt.

Mjm8710 07-17-2019 09:51 AM

Interesting. I noticed on the pilot bid Info page on flica there was also a note at the bottom of the calendar...

“Nothing new or exciting...YET”

When I read that it made me wonder if there’s an announcement on the horizon but we will see. ?

Shenzi105 07-17-2019 02:59 PM

Delta doesn't have 32 E175 planes at Compass, just sayin'.....

Yeah they have more than that.

Per sources, Boston is pretty much a done deal pending the acquisition of Compass.

Yeah I heard the same. We're getting Delta birds and putting them in BOS... God Damnit...
