You get a nice 1099 for it at the beginning of the next year. The CTP atp is not prorated and does not need to be paid back unless there’s something in the bonus that says you need to pay back the bonus plus the CTP ATP.

I can get the CTP and written done for $4500. If there is zero chance I would owe the company more than that then obviously I would let the airline cover it. But if the airline values their CTP at something more than that, I should just go ahead and get it on my own. I come from a world where if the company (USAF) gives you something of great value (upgrade, promotion, etc) they want something back.
