I know this sounds crazy but I’m actually considering coming back to republic (obvious for the money). Frontier is…not what I hoped. Even with the pay bumps there’s just not enough flying to go around and it looks like they are moving towards an allegiant model (lots of 1 day trips than are min day only)

I’m sure they’ll take every DEC they can get…

Unless you’re okay with retiring at RPA, I wouldn’t do it . It’s a step backwards in your career. That would most certainly be a topic during your next interview.

I’d be careful. I heard a few days ago starting 11/1 new hire classes were being canceled indefinitely. Not sure why and I thought it was just heresy, but then I ran into someone who actually had their class cancelled. They weren’t given a reason or a time line, but RPA was going to compensate them until their class is rescheduled. My guess it’s the training center move, but I’d tread carefully coming back here.

Compensate them how? Are they an employee or not?

Not sure. Their email said the company would offer them a financial incentive to wait for their rescheduled class date.

Not sure if I'm the one that you saw or not, but I definitely got contacted with that same (lack of) info

I LOVE Republic, but don’t do that. Regional industry is on the verge of collapsing and you don’t want to be here in the next 2-3 years. Stay put and apply to a legacy!

It sounds crazy because it is. Why would you take a major step backwards in your career?

There are exceptional circumstances but a return to a regional from a ULCC generally says you couldn’t hack it at a major and effectively puts your career dead in the water. I know of a guy who spent time at SWA and applied to a WO regional and they wouldn’t hire him because they were suspicious of why he was leaving a LCC for them. From frontier you can go to other ULCCs or legacies etc. think long and hard about stepping back down to a regional without a flow program because it could be your last move.
