Bidding for bases and pilot life

Why are you screaming to emphasize that this individual is coming from NorCal in response to the information I provided? As if to insinuate I have no experience on the matter and I am providing false or incorrect information to this individual. Nowhere in his question did he provide that he was intending to commute from CA. So, let me provide his previous posts and question to refresh you.
And my response...
I answered his question, as asked.
Since you and I had a differing view in another thread (in which, I admitted I missed he was coming from NorCal, and how that information changes the situation), I see that I replied to a question of his one day prior to the question in this particular thread. I likely missed the fact that it was the same person asking about commuting from CA in the other thread. Either way, I answered his question here as it was asked. Relax a little. I think this individual has now gotten enough information to make his own informed decision.
Additionally, why are you screaming about "when you are senior enough to bid it"? Currently, it does not take much seniority to get the schedule you wish while on reserve, so long as you bid in an effective manner. Which should only take one bid period. I'll provide my earlier reply about that for you here:

There are a lot of newbies out there and many of them are quite naive. And some of them derive most of their gouge from postings on this forum. When issues like this are left dangling those individuals simply might not get the message. I KNOW you know better than to plan a two-leg transcontinental commute as a way of life but there are rookies out there that DON’T know that, as difficult as that may be to believe, and before those individuals sign a contract or enter into training that may adversely effect their lives, it’s better that they learn the realities. And if that occasionally requires redundancy, so be it. Yes, I answered your post, but you aren’t the target audience for my post. You already know better.

QRH Bingo, I’m not attacking you or trying to rub your nose in anything. And I’m not even doing it for the benefit of the original poster who I think we BOTH agree is making a mistake.

On a month to month basis, it has a lot to do with the amount of total flying. We're probably at the end of the summer rush and in the short lull before holiday flying.

From the scheduling data, the Anticipated Hard Lines Initial Award for FO's was
IND 134-138 / PIT 68-72
Anticipated Reserve / Partial Lines
IND 17-21 / PIT 24-28
The August Podcast from the union says...
Clean line in IND was 6 mos for FO's and PIT was 11 mos. ORD was 12 mos.
...all of this can change somewhat from month to month but it helps identify where you'll get a line the quickest.
Having said that, when you are asked to put in your first bid, you'll likely be asked to put all the bases in order of desirability for you. I'd still put ORD #1 if you want it, ya never know...

Reserve is stand-by for flying, you must be able to report to your gate in base within 2 hours of being notified by crew scheduling.
So in August when the schedule was getting put together it was anticipated that 134-138 of the FO's in IND would get an actual schedule that included trips instead of reserve duty. It can mean a few more days off and knowing to a higher degree what you're actually flying that month. The rest the FO's in IND would get all reserve or a composite line (some reserve and some trips). Reserve would have exactly 12 days off. Not sure about composites but at least 12 is mandatory.
Quality of Life is generally better with a line...
I just took a quick look at the actual awards, these numbers are very close to those.
Reserve utilization can be a little trickier, but, in in IND, today, there are only 5 FO available for reserve duty and 3 of the 5 are assigned flights already.
PIT has 9 with 2 assigned something...

Sure, Hard line is an actual schedule, no reserve.
