Default Republic or Expressjet Offer

I'm looking for some insight & help from current or Ex Republic and Expressjet pilots in making a decision between two job offers. I have been offered a E170 class with Republic and a E145 class with Expressjet in June... I have done alot of research on both sides and see both the good and bad in both. I have friends that work for Expressjet who swear by the company; however, I don't know anyone at Republic... There are domiciles at both companies that I'm willing to move to, but Republic has more favorable choices for me... My friends at Express have told me that reserve time is running well over a year and Republic indicated a few week to a few months depending upon the base for the E170....

Any insights would be greatly appriciated....

You'll upgrade much quicker at RAH, but you get to deal w the contractual BS.

No waiting lists for E170 classes. Filling them as quick as possible. Usu one shuttle class of 10-14/ month and one republic class of about 20/month.

Contract is crap at RAH, pay and work rules draconion, but there's plenty about that posted on here. Nice airplane, good coworkers, youthful pilot group and dramatic growth are all reasons to work there.

I turned down the 5/29 Q and E145 class to go back into the pool for the E170... I was originally told to expect a July class as the June one was full, but I got the call a few days later with a opening in the 6/3 E170 class...

Go to Republic. Massive growth on the Republic Certificate for AMR flying.

Express Jet. Don't come here. If we had a contract, I'd tell you differently. As it is now, I want our company to have a hard time filling seats.

Go to Express. When weather hits and cancellations occur, you'll be happy to know you'll still receive pay for the credit awarded unlike Republic where pay fluctuations due to cancellations routinely occur.

So, it's not really what is best for the OP, just what would most benefit the current RAH pilots?

I mean that's OK, just tell the poor guy or gal that.

I think he just did tell him that.

And hopefully it won't only benefit current pilots but future ones as well.
