Get on with the one with the quick upgrade. Get that PIC and bail, Spirit now requires PIC time. I hope majors follow as well. SIC time and a type in an " RJ" are as worthless as a sport pilot certificate.

They do not. Per their website:

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

4,000 hours total time in fixed wing aircraft.
1,000 hours in multi-engine aircraft (at least 50 hours flown within the last 12 months.)
Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
Current Airline Transport Pilot License.
Valid passport/documents with the ability to travel in and out of the USA and all cities/countries served by Spirit Airlines now and in the future.

A good friend of mine really enjoys flying his RV12. Not all that worthless to some.

Spirit is currently hiring regional FOs with no PIC. Many Eagle FOs have been hired, of that I'm sure.

It could but it wouldn't make much sense. All 3 legacies will be hiring next year so the pool will be shallower than this year was. You could be right though, only time will tell.

Yes that is correct, but per about three days ago they are now 50.

I'm going to have to plead ignorance on this one, but I can't find anywhere where it says SkyWest multi mins are now 50. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

RJ Pilot 11-26-2013 04:11 PM

Scary.

Look on airline apps. If you compare your quals with SkyWest is only requires 50 now. I'm guessing this has something to do with not being able to fill the last couple classes.

My biweekly paycheck on the 1st of November was $681. Need I say more?

See if your local Home Depot is hiring

They are asking for 121 or part 135 PIC. If you have 135 PIC you can get hired. ;)

Very sad, you've said it all in one short sentence!

Found it. Thanks! But why does it say only 1000 total time required and not 1500?

R-ATP

one example: At least 1,000 hours total time as pilot and a Bachelor’s
degree with an aviation major;

Keep in mind, the flight training (Commercial/Instrument), along with the degree, received must also be from an associated Part 141 college approved by the FAA.

7AC2B60 11-27-2013 01:47 PM

Reduced Aeronautical Experience (RAE)

"A graduate from an institution of higher education who holds a bachelor’s degree with an aviation major and has completed at least 60 semester credit hours of aviation coursework and obtained the commercial pilot certificate and instrument rating from an associated part 141 pilot school to apply with 1,000 hours of total time as a pilot...."

University needs t/b on the list and you need to satisfy RAE, otherwise 1500 hrs

Institutions Authorized to Certify its Graduates for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Reduced Aeronautical Experience:
